It looks as if there's a new breakfast and lunch spot on the way for the Third Ward. A new restaurant called Sweet Diner is slated to open this summer at 239 E. Chicago St. in the vacant space next to Inspired, a gallery and home furnishings boutique.

The Lowlands Group announced today that it will begin renovations on Caf√© Benelux in Milwaukee's Third Ward. The restaurant will be closed beginning the evening of March 5 and will reopen with regular breakfast, lunch and dinner hours on March 17.

The former Paintball Dave's building in the Historic Third Ward hasn't seen much activity since the party hotspot closed its doors earlier this year. However, this afternoon, a new proposal for the building would bring retail and residential units to the space.
