Ashlee Simpson may have suffered a huge social blow in ‘04 when she got busted lip synching on "Saturday Night Live," but as these things go, her fans have long since forgiven and forgotten, thus returning the younger of the two Simpson singers to her pop sensation status.

She released her sophomore album, “I Am Me,” in October ’05 and is now back on the touring trail across America, making a stop in Milwaukee on Friday, July 28. She plays an 8 p.m. show at the Pabst Theater, with the twin sister team The Veronicas, who released their debut album, "The Secret Life Of The Veronicas," in February '06.

Tickets are reserved seating and go on sale Friday, June 16 at noon for $34.50 at the Pabst Theater box office, and at pabsttheater.org and tickets.com.
Julie Lawrence Special to OnMilwaukee.com

OnMilwaukee.com staff writer Julie Lawrence grew up in Wauwatosa and has lived her whole life in the Milwaukee area.

As any “word nerd” can attest, you never know when inspiration will strike, so from a very early age Julie has rarely been seen sans pen and little notebook. At the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee it seemed only natural that she major in journalism. When OnMilwaukee.com offered her an avenue to combine her writing and the city she knows and loves in late 2004, she knew it was meant to be. Around the office, she answers to a plethora of nicknames, including “Lar,” (short for “Larry,” which is short for “Lawrence”) as well as the mysteriously-sourced “Bill Murray.”
