Gathering on the Green has been a part of the Milwaukee summer festival season since 1994.

Set in Mequon’s Rotary Park, the two-day festival usually offers classical, pop and the performing arts under the summer stars.

In recent years, the festival has added bigger names like Dionne Warwick and The Von Trapp Family Singers.  The MSO is usually involved in one of the nights too.

This year, the festival is going to Springfield.  Rick Springfield, that is.  Yep, the first night – July 10 – of Gathering on the Green boasts pop icon Rick Springfield

Violin virtuoso, Frank Almond – concertmaster of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra – joins  Emmy Award-winning composer Mark Wood on Saturday.

Gathering on the Green runs July 10 and 11.
