The "Social Circle" is a group effort between readers, social networkers and the OnMilwaukee.com editors. Every Monday, we ask a question via Facebook and Twitter and then post the responses from our Facebook "likers" and Twitter followers in this column. Well-known Milwaukee movers and shakers will contribute, too.

Festival season on the "Summerfest grounds" kicks off this weekend with three days of Pride Fest.

Milwaukee’s Pride Fest is in its 27 year and so OnMilwaukee.com asked the Social Circle for its thoughts on the local LGBTQ celebration. Is it as good as Pride Fests in other cities?

Below is a sampling of responses, and to read the entire thread go here. What do you think?

Sarah Berg: "Most of them you don't have to pay, but then you don't have great lakefront views either!"

Denise Cawley: "Ours has way more community. Others focus on a parade. Ours is about community and so much nicer being on permanent festival grounds."

Ilana Cohn-Gomez: "Chicago pride has a fabulous parade down Halsted and Broadway that showcases tons of talent from the LGBT community."

Jessa Dunbeorg: "Most other locations don't have access to/rent the amazing facilities Pride Fest uses here."

Nathan Eber: "I don’t know. I have never been."

Rachel Fell: "From what I understand it's bigger and more epic than most!"

Nate Jake: "Why do they need a gay pride fest in the first place? Confuses me in many ways. If we had straight pride, then what? Name calling and banishment from the socialized community probably, but they're all for love and equality."

Peggy Romo West: "It rocks it and it makes them jealous."

Dawn Suvagian: "Toronto has a good one."

Janet Vlasaty-Smith: "I hear Seattle has an amazing parade. I'd like to see one here too!"

Christopher Wilde: "Most other locations don't charge to get in."
