Still struggling with costume ideas for this year? Halloween is but days away, so if you haven't yet committed to a costume, this event might help.

The Modjeska Theatre, 1128 W. Mitchell St., is hosting a one-day costume sale this Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you're feeling creative, sift through selections of vintage gems to craft your own get up. If you just need something quick and easy for the office party, there'll be plenty of pre-packages outfits to choose from.

There'll be music, food, candy and, if you stick around, David Seebach's "Illusions of the Night" magic show at 2 p.m.

While you're there, get your ghost buster on and investigate the rumor that the Modjeska Theater is haunted.

Julie Lawrence Special to OnMilwaukee.com

OnMilwaukee.com staff writer Julie Lawrence grew up in Wauwatosa and has lived her whole life in the Milwaukee area.

As any “word nerd” can attest, you never know when inspiration will strike, so from a very early age Julie has rarely been seen sans pen and little notebook. At the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee it seemed only natural that she major in journalism. When OnMilwaukee.com offered her an avenue to combine her writing and the city she knows and loves in late 2004, she knew it was meant to be. Around the office, she answers to a plethora of nicknames, including “Lar,” (short for “Larry,” which is short for “Lawrence”) as well as the mysteriously-sourced “Bill Murray.”
