Dear Groom: Are there any rules I should follow when getting my hair done?

We will admit, there are a few.  Here are some inside tips from the experts on proper etiquette to help you stay on your barber or barbette's good side, which is important if you want to keep coming back to a certain stylist.

First, remember, never be rude or act inappropriately!

Inappropriate: Making moves on your barbette repeatedly.

Appropriate: Telling her she looks nice.

Inappropriate: Showing up to your appointment wasted.

Appropriate: Having a couple beers while you are at your barbershop or salon.

Inappropriate: Throwing a fit when you can't get an appointment immediately.

Appropriate: Understanding that sometimes barbettes have busy schedules and can't always fit you in on the spur of the moment, but will try their best.

Inappropriate: Throwing temper tantrums when "your song" isn't played.

Appropriate: Asking if we could play your favorite song.

Inappropriate: Leaving a hair cut unsatisfied.

Appropriate: Voicing your desires and disappointments always.

Here's to better haircuts.
