Here's a quick Q & A with Kristen Vick of Paulie's Pub

OnMilwaukee.com: How long have you been a bartender?

Kristen Vick: Three years.

OMC: What's your signature drink?

KV: Cruzan Confusion: Cruzan Mango, pineapple, coconut, citrus rum, splash of cranberry, orange and pineapple juice. It's topped with grenadine, orange and cherries.

OMC: What's your favorite Milwaukee bar (other than the one you work at?)

KV: Trinity -- three bars in one. Gotta love that.

OMC: How do you get good tips?

KV: Smile and get to know my customers.

OMC: Have you ever cut someone off?

KV: Yes, multiple times. I've never had too big of an issue. The best thing to do is say, "I would love to get you a drink next time you come in, but tonight I would love to serve you your favorite soft drink."

OMC: Do you believe in "beer after liquor, never been sicker; liquor before beer, you're in the clear?"

KV: Not really. I work in a beer and a shot kind of place.

OMC: Are you more likely to go out for Sunday service industry night or Sunday morning brunch?

KV: Sunday morning brunch, aka, Sunday morning Bloody Marys.

OMC: Are you looking forward to the smoking ban?

KV: It doesn't matter to me. If people want to go out to the bar, they will. Of they want to smoke, they can go outside.

OMC: What cocktail are you preparing at the Bartender Olympics?

Island Old Fashioned
One part Malibu
Splash of bitters
Drop of bar syrup
Splash of sweet and sour
Splash of Sprite
Top with a drizzle of grenadine
