A few months ago, I reported on the Central Bark Location in the Menomonee Valley, owned by Jessica and Mark McCann. This weekend, the couple will host the Friends of MADACC's second annual Gallery Night & Yappy Hour.

The event takes place Saturday, May 21 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Central Bark's Monomonee Valley location, 333 N. 25th St. There will be food, beer, wine, a photo booth and raffle prizes including massages, Harley-Davidson items, handmade dog beds, salon gift certificates and more.

Featured artists include All Ears Photography and Pet Portraits by Shannon and Allie Eastwood.

The suggested donation is $5, and all of the proceeds go to the Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission's "Operation Sunshine" program which will build outdoor kennels at the MADACC facility. The organization serves approximately 13,000 homeless animals every year – some of Milwaukee County's neediest animals.

And yes, your pooch – as long as he or she is "fixed" and friendly – can attend the event.

"People love going out, having fun with their pups, enjoying art and having some laughs over good food and drink," says Jill Brown of MADACC. "And if it's for a great cause, all the better."
