In order to provide information about symphony musicians, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra (MSO) Players Council started the new year by launching a Web site, www.msomusicians.org

"The MSO musicans are an integral part of what makes Milwaukee a wonderful place to work and live," said Sara Harmelink, MSO Players Council president. "This Web site supplies information about what we do as full-time musicians."

The site also has links to the Milwaukee Symphony orchestra, International Conference of Symphony Orchestra Musicians, Wisconsin Assembly for Local Arts, the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF) and more.

Similar symphony musicians' Web sites have been created in Houston, Toronto, Columbus, Florida and Oregon.

"The musicians' Web site serves as a tremendous opportunity to inform the community about what musicians do onstage and off, and it also encourages the exchange of information among other art groups," said Steve Ovitsky, president and executive director of the MSO. "We're pleased the site can serve as a portal for many people who are interested in music, the musicians and the MSO."
