Brookfield has a new Irish pub.

Given the location, Wauwatosa and Elm Grove probably can stake a claim, too.

O'Sullivan's Public House, located at 12525 W. North Ave., has taken over the space previously occupied by Ritter's Inn. Ritter's, which was notorious for German food and its Friday fish fry, operated in the space for 17 years before closing in June.

O'Sullivan's, located across North Avenue from Sendik's and Kohl's Dept. Store, adds another Irish / sports option to an area that already boasts Mo's Irish Pub, 10842 W. Bluemound Rd., and O'Donoghue's Irish Pub, 13225 W. Watertown Plank Rd.

A hand-made sign on the door at O'Sullivan's said the bar opens at 5 p.m. Sunday, but a permanent sign said that the establishment would open daily at 11 a.m.
