This weekend, Milwaukee celebrated fall Gallery Night & Day, featuring dozens of art galleries that were free and open to the public. Although Milwaukeeans come out in droves for this event, it has been said that we’re more into viewing art than buying it.

Perhaps this stereotype isn’t true. Do you purchase art frequently? Have you bought at least one original art piece from a local artist? What’s the most you’d spend on a piece of art?

Sound-off, Milwaukee!

Under $100. I would love to spend more on art, but I simply do not have the funds. Additionally, I like framed  prints and posters just as much as original art.

$100-$350. For this amount of cash, you can find amazing art in Milwaukee because a lot of local art priced in this bracket would be a lot more in larger cities. And, no, prints do not compare to original pieces of art.

$350-$1,000. I have spent this much on art, and I will again, because appealing art is worth every penny. Actually, I would spend more than a grand on art if I found the right piece.
