Welcome, J&B's Blue Ribbon Bar!

Last summer I reported that Long Wong's, 5239 W. Bluemound Rd., was "closed for maintenance" after owner Paul Wong suffered a stroke and was having other health issues.

Now, former Long Wong's manager Jon Bliesner and former bartender Bob Schindel remodeled the space and opened J&B's Blue Ribbon Bar.

The Story Hill bar offers nine tap beers, including Miller products, Lakefront products, Pabst and Guinness. It also has a large selection of bottled and canned beer. The new owners plan to add a food menu before the Brewers' Opening Day on Friday, April 6.

Kinda weird that there is also the Blue Ribbon Pub right down the road around 113th and Bluemound. Who will be the first to change their name?

Will Long Wong's reopen?

Long Wong`s, Milwaukee`s only Chinese-American sports bar, is closed. A sign on the door reads "closed for maintenance" and at this point it is uncertain when and if the bar will reopen.
