Help me get crackin' on my bottle of Kraken

In mid-December, my co-workers and I engaged in a beverage exchange. Everyone bought $20 worth of alcohol, put it in a paper bag, drew numbers and then could either pick a bag of unidentified liquor or "steal" from someone else.
It was like a white elephant party, except with booze.
I ended up with The Kraken spiced rum. (Thanks, Jason!) I really like the bottle and the label, but I am just not sure what to do with it. Someone suggested pineapple juice, which I tried, but it was too sweet of a concoction for me.
I went to The Kraken website and found a recipe for The Kraken Black, a mix of the rum, Guinness and Kahlua. That sounded strange but interesting and I actually had all of the ingredients, so I mixed one up. Nope. Couldn't even finish it.
Also, I put some in my tea once. That was pretty good, but I really have to be in the mood for a hot alcoholic beverage.
Anyone have any thoughts on how to tame this beast into a decent cocktail? I really hate to see a perfectly good intoxicant go to waste.
Tough break. The capitalist in me says you should hang a sign on your front door that says "$Dollar Shot Nite$", cut it with Rumchatta, and try to turn a profit. If you're not willing to go all speakeasy, think outside the box: cooking. Like Bananas Foster? There you go. Otherwise grab a whole pork shoulder and a standard marinade, mix some of that in and slow cook. Would give a great vanilla-spice flavor. If you hate bananas and are a vegetarian... dump it out, replace with Powers, enjoy.
Usually I like black rum with ginger ale or 7UP. Another option is mixing it with tonic and some fresh limes works (sometimes I grate some ginger into that as well).
A cocktail with Kraken is a tough one unless you're a "mixologist". I normally use it as a substitute for Meyer's rum in some tiki drinks. Like yourself, I didn't go for the Kraken and pineapple juice either. However, I did try it with a good ginger beer and liked it.
