{image1}According to Douglas Waller, author of A Question of Loyalty: Gen. Billy Mitchell and the Court-Martial That Gripped The Nation, Gen. Billy Mitchell wouldnt necessarily be honored to have an airport named for him.
Inside the terminal, he writes of Milwaukees airport, there is the Mitchell Gallery of Flight with a small collection of his medals, papers and photos. The terminals food court is also called the Generals Court with a Mitchells Café and Billys Pub. The general would have been furious with those establishments, considering how much he opposed the commercialization of his name.
Waller, a senior correspondent for Time magazine, visits Milwaukee to read from his fascinating book, Thursday, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. at Schwartz Bookshop, 4093 N. Oakland Ave. in Shorewood.
