Recently, South Shore Terrace – an outdoor drinking and snacking space attached to South Shore Park’s pavilion – joined the seemingly-and-hopefully-ever-growing collection of Milwaukee beer gardens.

The South Shore Terrace – called a "private-public project" – was largely funded by MillerCoors Brewing Company. Hence, all 12 of the taps are MillerCoors’ products – 10 beers and two ciders. Glasses of wine, soft drinks and water are also on the menu.

The cost of the drinks range between $3.50 and $10, depending on the type of beer, whether it’s a pint or a liter and if you bring your own stein. The beer garden is cash only, but there’s an ATM on site.

The snack offerings are limited, but feature the mandatory enormous pretzel with mustard and bags of snack items.

The space includes a few dozen picnic tables, two fire pits, a large bar and a massive mural on the western wall boasting the MillerCoors logo.

The best part of this new beer garden, however, is the visibility of and proximity to Lake Michigan. The view of the blue is stunning and there are very few public locations in Milwaukee where people can enjoy a libation and the lake simultaneously. For this reason alone, the South Shore Terrace might be the new fan favorite.

As long as you’re thirsty for a MillerCoors product, of course.
