Whiskey River, 1025 N. Old World 3rd St., has closed.

The bar closed last night around 9:30, according to staff members, and there are no plans to reopen.

The bar opened in 2006 as Bootleggers but issues between the bar owners, management and neighbors led to a one-month license suspension in 2010 and a one-year shutdown of its rooftop deck.

New owners stepped in last fall and closed the bar for a month, reopening it as Whiskey River, the same as the group's other properties in La Crosse and Madison.
