The evolution of the East Side's Downer Avenue continues with the news that The Chancery, 2575 N. Downer Ave., will close its doors on March 31.

A hostess at the DeRosa Corporation restaurant said, "We've chosen not to renew our lease." DeRosa also owns the seemingly always busy Original Pancake House, just north of the Chancery at 2621 N. Downer Ave.

Plans for the redevelopment of Downer continue to move ahead with condos, additional retail spaces, a possible hotel and new anchors like Cafe Hollander.  Ristorante Bartolotta closed its Downer location last month.
