Culinary options in the Third Ward continue to grow as the area is due to sport two new full-service restaurants by the end of April.
Fratellos Waterfront Restaurant will fill a good portion the lower level of a new condo building at 102 N. Water St., on the corner of Menominee Street, beginning April 14. The restaurant will feature everything from burgers to steaks, owner John Supple III told the Milwaukee Common Council Licenses Committee before it granted the restaurant the license this week.
Fratellos Waterfront Restaurants can already be found in Oshkosh, Appleton and Green Bay.
Supple is part of the Oshkosh-based Supple Restaurant Group, which operates eight restaurants and banquet halls and a hotel. The group also runs the Fox River Brewing Co., Wave Bar & Ballroom, and the Oshkosh Hilton Garden Inn. It also holds franchises for Golden Corral Buffet & Grill and The Melting Pot.
Just a block north, the former Riverwalk Bistro, 223 N. Water St. will become Rustico's, a gourmet pizza restaurant run by Brian Zarletti.
Zarletti owns self-named restaurants in South Milwaukee and on the corner of Milwaukee and Mason Streets Downtown.
Zarletti told the committee he plans to open by the end of April and will occupy the first two floors of the building, which also briefly housed the Onyx nightclub.
Ex-Eve
Eve, the club that broke the entertainment barrier on Downtown's Milwaukee Street is reopening as Apartment 720. Tom Wackman closed the club earlier this year, leaving a sign on the door telling patrons to go across the street to his other clubs -- Kenadee's and Tangerine.
Late last year Wackman told OnMilwaukee.com he was going to reopen the kitchen of the 8,000-sq. ft. space. Wackman is also a part owner of Carnevor, which is also on Milwaukee Street.

Yes! Swig is YUMMY! Don't forget about Riverfront...the area's BEST pizza and cocktails. So good, but walk over to watch your waistline! There is some parking tho---NON-smoking and patio overlooking the tugboats on the River--it's a MUST!
