Agave Southwest Bar & Grill, 800 N. Plankinton Ave., has announced that it will roll out a new menu beginning Friday, Dec. 18.
The new menu features a combination of American style favorites, along with numerous Southwestern inspired dishes.
Dinner
Among starters, diners can choose from items like steamed mussels served with a choice of Southwest style tomato sauce or white wine with fresh herbs ($12), crab cakes with chipotle remoulade ($13) and Santa Fe flatbread with agave-cured salmon ($13).
Salads include classic Caesar ($7); beet salad with goat cheese, spiced walnuts and citrus chile dressing ($9); and the Agave Cobb featuring turkey, black forest ham, avocado, tomato, red onion, hard boiled egg with chile lime dressing ($8). A soup of the day, as well as the house tortilla soup ($5), are also available.
Dinner items include pastas like Southwest penne with chicken, featuring ancho-rubbed chicken with romesco sauce ($16) and Seafood Pasta ala Agave with scallops, salmon, mussels, shrimp, mahi mahi and linguini in a light tomato sauce ($28). Entrees include ancho chile salmon with garlic potato mash and spinach saute ($22); braised short ribs with portabello, crimini, demi glas, green beans and celery root and potato mash with white truffle oil ($22); enchiladas suiza with chicken, poblano cream sauce and Swiss cheese served with Spanish rice and guacamole ($16); and a stuffed poblano pepper with spicy black bean puree, goat cheese risotto and vegetable saute ($15).
Lunch
Lunch options include a limited selection of soup, salad and starters, along with burgers and wraps sandwiches – including the Agave Southwest burger featuring an agave spice blend, sharp cheddar and fresh jalapeno on a brioche bun ($10); a barbecued pulled pork sandwich with tangy barbeque sauce ($11); a portabella mushroom sandwich with roasted red peppers, onion, spinach and chipotle mayo ($10); and a turkey club wrap with bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo ($9).
Agave is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to close. Happy hour specials are offered daily from 2 to 6 p.m. and all day on Sunday featuring half-price appetizers, Agave mimosas and Marias, $3 domestic beer and two-for-one wine, agave infusions and rail cocktails.
