Milwaukee's best chain, 2009: Cheesecake Factory
The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2009. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.
It's no secret that Milwaukeeans like a "healthy" serving size and The Cheesecake Factory has some of the heartiest. Portions last diners at least two meals and the sheer size of the menu requires a spiral bound book giving diners option after option of salads, pastas, pizzas, steaks and seafood.
Still crafting the Overton family cheesecake recipe, The Cheesecake Factory rotates over 50 flavors of cheesecake including the "original"; creamy plain cheesecake with a graham cracker crust and sour cream topping. Adorned with whimsical chandeliers and fairytale murals, the Cheesecake Factory staff complete the magical world wearing baker's white from head to toe.
Named the best chain in town by OnMilwaukee.com readers for the second year in a row, The Cheesecake Factory boasts more than 200 menu items served just the same at each and every one of its national locations.
Originating in Detroit, the restaurant carried family recipes to Los Angeles, in the mid-1970s and since expanded to offer service in 37 states. In Milwaukee, The Cheesecake Factory arrived at the malls. Mayfair Mall's location opened in 2003, followed by a Bayshore Mall location in 2006.

Why is no one talking about California Pizza Kitchen??? I've waited years to get CPK here and it is clearly the best chain Milwaukee has!!!
not my favorite, too loud, not relaxing, over priced, maybe I'm not the "chain type"
A whole lot of food that tastes all the same. I have never understood why this place is a destination. Devon and Bravo both deserve to be a higher on this list than Cheesecake Factory. When we will people realize that quantity does not equal quality.
Cheesecake Factory isn't bad, but everyone that voted for it needs to check out the Bonefish Grill. When I found out it was a chain, I almost couldn't believe it.
I never understand why people love this place. So many better chains, non-chains, and fast food restaurants than the Cheesecake Factory.
