Milwaukee's best sandwiches, 2010: Cafe Lulu
The votes are in, and the winners have been selected for OnMilwaukee's Best Dining 2010. The results of this readers' poll, including an editors' pick, are available in this series of articles that run all October long during Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com.
Café Lulu ended the Chocolate Factory's grip on the title for Milwaukee's Best Sandwich last year and went for the repeat in 2010, picking up nearly 13 percent of the vote.
Whether it's falafel, pita, baguettes or even the homemade potato chips, this Bay View sandwich shop hits the mark for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike. Add some of that amazing asian slaw and you've got a real winner.
The staff at OnMilwaukee.com has always been smitten by the selection of sammies -- and, ahem, wine -- at Nessun Dorma and so that was the editors' choice.

Haven't been to Lulu in 10 years,I had crappy service 3 times in a row. Maybe it's time for a re-visit.....
I love the menu @ LuLu. I eat there quite often & have never had a bad meal or less than excellent service. Congrats! Funny, being a Tosa resident, I still haven't eaten at Juniper 61 b/c LuLu is so high on my personal list.
LOVE Dorma. They have fantastic specials also. If they have one of their stuffed chicken with orzo, I highly recommend getting it.
