Downtown Greendale is getting its first pub. Drilling’s Panther Pub and Eatery, 5651 Broad St., opened to the public on Aug. 1.

The pub can accommodate about 100 people and features over 75 historic photographs on its walls, detailing Greendale sports history (the Greendale High School mascot is the panther).

The menu features upscale burgers, sandwiches, a few choice entrees, Friday fish fry, craft beer and specialty drinks. Hours are 11 a.m. to midnight.

Owner Mike Drilling is a Greendale native with strong ties to the community. His daughter Allison will be the manager of Drilling's Panther Pub and Eatery.

"(I want the pub to be) a place where the community can come together as a community ... this is a first for Downtown Greendale and we want everybody to join in the celebration," said Drilling in a press release.
