Former De Marini's space most likely to become Goodkind
For the seventh straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee.com, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as the winners of our "Best of Dining 2013."
Love Bowl LLC announced through social media that their new restaurant that will most likely open next year in the former Mama De Marini's space, 2457 S. Wentowrth Ave., will be called Goodkind.
The Love Bowl partnership includes William and Jessica Seidel, owners of Burnhearts, 2599 S. Logan Ave., along with bar manager Katie Rose and Odd Duck chefs Paul Zerkel and Lisa Kirkpatrick.
"We cannot wait to begin serving the good and kind people of Bay View and beyond," read a recent tweet.
More information will be available soon.
Veronica Cieslak – the granddaughter of Lucille and Vincenzo DeMarinis, who owned and operated De Marinis – will reopen the restaurant later this fall under the name Little De Marinis in the former Rocco's restaurant in the basement of the Bay View American Legion Post, 2860 S. Kinnickinnic Ave.
Best news I've heard all day! I cannot wait for the reincarnation of De Marinis pizza in the the Legion Post. Ever since they closed I feel like a part of me has been missing. Such great memories made in that place and some of the best pizza in the city! I am also very excited about this new restaurant filling the old space. Lovebowl sounds like a solid collaboration.
