La Masa, the new empanada restaurant at 1300 E. Brady St. in the former home of World of Beer, will debut on Saturday, just in time for the Brady Street Festival.

And fest-goers will be able to get a first-hand taste of some of the restaurant's liquid refreshments. According to co-owner Brad Todd, the restaurant will have a booth outdoors during the festival from which it will serve a couple of the restaurant’s draft cocktails, including sangria.

Todd, who owns the restaurant with his sister Megan Todd, and Scott and Becky Berger of Yo Mama, says La Masa will serve a variety of large empanadas ($3-4 each) along with sandwiches, salads, beer, wine and cocktails.

And stay tuned. We’ll have an in-depth first look at the space and the menu at La Masa coming up next week.

La Masa’s kitchen will be open Sunday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Takeout will also be available.
