For the ninth straight year, October is Dining Month on OnMilwaukee, presented by the restaurants of Potawatomi Hotel & Casino. All month, we're stuffed with restaurant reviews, dining guides, delectable features, chef profiles and unique articles on everything food, as well as voting for your "Best of Dining 2015."
Tickets will go on sale Friday, Nov. 6 at noon for "An Intimate Conversation with Lidia Bastianich," which has been scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Pabst Theater.
This special performance follows the release of Bastianich's book, "Mastering the Art of Italian Cuisine: Everything You Need to Know to be a Great Italian Cook," which was released this October.
During the one-night event, the best-selling author, who has become a beloved ambassador for Italian culinary traditions throughout the world, will present an evening of conversation and storytelling that focuses on celebrating Italian food.
Reserved tickets are $45 each and can be ordered online beginning at 12 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6.
Lori is an avid cook whose accrual of condiments and spices is rivaled only by her cookbook collection. Her passion for the culinary industry was birthed while balancing A&W root beer mugs as a teenage carhop, fed by insatiable curiosity and fueled by the people whose stories entwine with each and every dish. She’s had the privilege of chronicling these tales via numerous media, including OnMilwaukee and in her book “Milwaukee Food.” Her work has garnered journalism awards from entities including the Milwaukee Press Club.
