A new contemporary Asian restaurant quietly opened its doors today in the Historic Third Ward neighborhood.

Lucky Ginger, located at 221 N. Water St. in the space formerly occupied by Cynthia's, offers a hybrid of classic Asian cuisine and contemporary fusion.  

Lucky Ginger’s menu includes starters like pork and vegetable egg rolls (2 for $3.50), edamame ($5) and dumplings (6 for $7). Soups include tom yum ($3.95-$4.95), tom kha ($3.95-$4.95) and four variations of pho ranging in price between $9 and $11.

Noodle dishes include Pad Thai ($10-$12), a ginger noodle bowl ($11) and Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles) ($10-$12). The menu is rounded out with two versions of fried rice ($8-$12), a red curry ($10-$12), Mussamun curry ($10-$12), and entrees including Korean short ribs ($14) to a ginger steak ($18.50).

Beverages include cocktails ($10), beer and soft drinks, including Thai iced tea ($3).

Lucky Ginger will be open Tuesday through Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m., for lunch and dinner.
