On Thursday, July 28 beginning at 12:30 p.m. Outpost Natural Foods Cooperative's State Street location at 7000 W. State St. will host Sassy Cows ‘n Cones, a fundraising event for the co-op’s newly launched signature "Milk Money" program.

During the event, shoppers are invited to meet baby cows from Sassy Cow Creamery and make $3 donations for Sassy Cow ice cream cones, with 100% of proceeds supporting the Milk Money program in partnership with Hunger Task Force.

Milk Money is a pay-it-forward program providing nutritious and wholesome milk to local families. Outpost shoppers can purchase a voucher for a gallon of milk at the check-out register. These vouchers are delivered to Hunger Task Force and distributed to local food pantries nearest to each Outpost store location. Sassy Cow Creamery will also be matching Milk Money donations in July and August, up to 200 gallons per month.

"Hunger is a real issue for so many in our community. Outpost is pleased to be teaming up with our friends at Hunger Task Force to provide greater access to fresh, healthy, local food like dairy milk," says Margaret Mittelstadt, Community Relations Director for Outpost Natural Foods.

"Outpost Natural Foods is a long-standing partner of Hunger Task Force, and Milk Money is an awesome new program that’s going to provide local families and kids with that nutritious staple," says Sherrie Tussler, executive director of Hunger Task Force.
