If you think mall food has to be junk food, this news may change your tune. Fresh, local and healthy food options will soon be available at Mayfair Mall.

Simmer Cafe has signed a lease to open a kiosk in the Mayfair Mall food court this fall. The location will be a brand new 12x15-foot kiosk near Jamba Juice and directly in front Hot Topic.

"We did not seek this out," says co-owner Steve Perlstein, "They actually called us. And we think it’s because they are really seeking out more local healthy options."

The kiosk will feature a similar menu to that offered by both the Simmer Truck and the Downtown Simmer Cafe, located at 718 N. Water St. Breakfast – including the unique Simmer panini press omelets and hashbrowns – will be available all day. The kiosk will also serve homemade soups, panini, fresh baked goods and salads featuring house-made dressings.

Simmer Cafe Mayfair has an expected opening date of early October.
