City of Milwaukee residents can attempt to get an H1N1 intranasal vaccination on Friday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Sarah Scott Complex, 1017 N. 12th St. If the vaccine is still available, two more clinics are scheduled for Saturday at Sarah Scott and South Division High School, 1515 W. Lapham Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The H1N1 vaccination is recommended for healthy individuals age 2 to 49 years old. People who work in health care or with infants are encouraged to get the vaccine. Pregnant women and people with chronic medical problems such as asthma, diabetes and heart disease are not eligible to get the nasal vaccine, which contains a live virus.

H1N1 flu vaccines are free and dispensed on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is a very limited supply, so attending a clinic does not guarantee a vaccination.
