In the Blatz Cave, you don't have to decide on just one brand. The build-your-own six pack makes it a free-for-all! |

Although it sounds like the nickname you gave your refrigerator in college, the Blatz Cave is actually the name of the immensely diverse and interestingly stocked beer cooler inside the brand new Blatz Market and Liquor, 1121 N. Broadway.
Beer baron Joe Woelfle opened his beer and wine shop Friday, Oct. 10 in a 1,000-sq. ft. space on the street level of Downtown's Blatz Condos, the former site of the historic Blatz Brewery.
He tells us his selection is second to none, but also includes an indecisive beer-lover's dream: the build-your-own six-pack option.
The store is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and Woelfle has scheduled an official grand opening for this Friday, Oct. 24. The wine samples are on him.

Yes! All their beer is cold including the build your own 6 pack section.

Are all the beers cold? While Metro Market has a "pick your own six pack" area, none of the beers are cold. Which means you have to wait to drink them. Even the six packs of Honkers Ale aren't refrigerated. I have to go to Whole Foods to get cold ones.

If you live in Milwaukee, and you Drink, Get off Your Ass. While I may not be a Beer Baron, I'd consider myself a conoseur. When I walked into the Blatz Cave I was awestruck. I've never even heard of half the beers in there! Awesome!! This should keep me occupied for atleast a week or two....

This store is exactly what the Blatz condos and the city of Milwaukee needed. With the exception of Metro Market, which has a pretty generic selection, there was no place to get a good selection of micro-brewed beers and nice wines. I will be a frequent visitor of Blatz Market and Liquor!
