The Brewers haven't played a game in nearly two months but -- if the 27th annual clubhouse sale is any indication -- interest in the team hasn't diminished much.
The sale, which runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, drew a steady crowd of shoppers during the lunch hour today. Popular items included Brewers apparel, souvenirs and specialty items as well as game-used merchandise including jerseys, jackets and bats.
Does someone on your Christmas list need a game-used, cracked bat from Tony Gwynn, Jr.? That will be $250. How about a game jersey from Bill Castro, Ben Hendrickson or Dana Eveland? That will be $75.
The Brewers have representatives on hand to sell holiday four-packs, special packages created for the season.
Admission to the sale and parking are free. Fans should enter Miller Park at the Hot Corner near the FanZone Store and Friday's Front Row and follow posted directions to the clubhouse. Cash and credit cards are accepted (no personal checks).
The FanZone Store at Miller Park is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with special extended holiday hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Dec. 17-23. The FanZone phone number is (414) 902-4750.
