Things are starting to move with the redevelopment project of the former Pabst Brewery site, known as The Brewery Project LLC.
Philanthropist and developer Joseph J. Zilber announced today that he closed with Boiler House LLC, an investors group headed by Milwaukeeans Charles Trainer and Max Dermond, on the purchase of Building 10, the brewery's former boiler house, built in 1882.
Boiler House says Albion Group Architects plan to move into the building by next fall and that it'll have another big announcement in early January.
"It is clear from our leasing efforts that The Brewery is going to be a major anchor neighborhood, not only in the Downtown area, but for the City of Milwaukee as a whole," said Trainer. "People are excited about what's going on here, the speed at which this project is being developed and Mr. Zilber's commitment to have it be both historic and sustainable.
"Our commitment to historic preservation and sustainability for our building is consistent with Mr. Zilber's vision and our tenants share our view that The Brewery will be Milwaukee's next great neighborhood."
