The Firestone location Downtown, at 601 W. Wells St., has closed as the building and parking structure that it’s housed in has been condemned. TTOW Properties in Dallas and Capitol Corporate Services, Inc., in Madison are listed has the owner and manager on city documents.
According to the Department of Neighborhood Services, "The area of the building containing Firestone Complete Auto Car is a hazard to public health and safety due to extensive ceiling spalling, deteriorating concrete, exposed rebar and cracking structural beams."
The entire building, built in 1972, according to a Firestone employee, will be razed.
Firestone hopes to reopen the location or another location in greater Downtown in the coming months. In the meantime, signage suggest using the company’s Miler Park Way location.
