Thief Wine Shop & Bar's second location is officially open for business in Shorewood.

The shop, situated in the Cornerstone Building at 4512 N. Oakland Ave., has the same wine bar and retail wine shop offerings as its counterpart in the Milwaukee Public Market. Unlike its bustling marketplace companion, however, the new space provides customers with a more contemporary and relaxed destination.

Those stopping in for a glass can drink their vino at the custom-made bar in the spacious storefront. Within the next week, patrons will also be able to enjoy appetizers and other light fare from the nearby North Shore Bistro.

For the retail half of the new space, co-owners Phil Bilodeau and Aimee Murphy have installed floor-to-ceiling wall shelving in order to feature the more than 600 artisanal wines sold at the shop.

Like its sister store, the new Thief Wine Shop & Bar will continue the free customer rewards program, which earns customers a $15 credit for every $200 spent on regularly priced purchases at either the bar or retail shop.

Contrary to her natural state of being, Renee Lorenz is a total optimist when it comes to Milwaukee. Since beginning her career with OnMilwaukee.com, her occasional forays into the awesomeness that is the Brew City have turned into an overwhelming desire to discover anything and everything that's new, fun or just ... "different."

Expect her random musings to cover both the new and "new-to-her" aspects of Miltown goings-on, in addition to periodically straying completely off-topic, which usually manifests itself in the form of an obscure movie reference.
