Channel 6 is the third Milwaukee TV station posting its newscasts on Wisconsin On Demand.

OnMedia: Channel 6 joins the on-demand crowd

Channel 6 has joined Channels 4 and 12 in posting their newscasts on Time Warner Cable's "Wisconsin On Demand" Channel 411, which is available free to digital cable subscribers with a cable box.

The Fox affiliate's newscasts and its "Real Milwaukee" morning show have been available for a few weeks, but the service was formally launched this week after it was clear the bugs were worked out of it.

It's a great service that allows viewing of up to a week-old newscast if you're looking for a particular story.

You can't record from Channel 411 to your DVR, but it does provide another way to timeshift your viewing so you can see things on your schedule.

The addition to Channel 411 highlights the other On-Demand channels available to Time Warner digital subscribers, especially "Prime Time On Demand," Channel 401, which offers on-demand viewing of networks shows from the big-four broadcast networks, ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC.

I'm always amazed to find out that so many cable subscribers aren't aware of the viewing that's available to them. Heck, you're paying for it, so you should skim the channel listings and see all the viewing options available to you.

On TV: AMC has reached a deal for the final run of its "Breaking Bad," saying the series will end with a 16-episode run. It's not clear when that final season will air, or if those 16 episodes will be split up over two seasons. The series is now in its 13-episode fourth season.

  • Meanwhile, TLC has announced that it's saying goodbye to Kate Gosselin and her "Kate Plus 8." The announcement says there may be specials in the future, but the regular show is done after 150 episodes.
  • Bravo is sending some of its "Real Housewives" on a tour in October, with stops in Atlantic City, N.J.; Atlanta: and (in as close as they're getting to Milwaukee) Hammond, Ind.
  • Antenna TV (Channel 6.2 over the air and 986 on Time Warner) will mark the Jerry Lewis-less MDA Telethon this year with a marathon of Lewis flicks from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Labor Day.

Make that twice the Sarah Michelle Gellar as the usual show: The CW Network has released a promo for Sarah Michelle Gellar's new fall show, "The Ringer," where she plays twin sisters Siobhan and Bridget
