Even in August, when the summer is gasping its final breaths, it seems the summer movie season never ends. That’s especially the case this year with Point Fish Fry & A Flick, who announced this morning that "The Avengers" is the first film in their outdoor movie series, now in its fifth year of existence.
Marvel’s 2012 comic book magnum opus will show Friday, Aug. 30 at 5 p.m. at Milwaukee’s Lakefront by Discovery World. Admission is free.
The wildly entertaining blockbuster follows Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Captain America (Chris Evans), The Hulk (Kenosha native Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and many others as they try to save the world from Loki and an evil alien army. The film broke box office records last summer, becoming not only one of the highest grossing movies of the year but also of all time.
As the event’s name would suggest, there will be a fish fry as well, provided by the Bartolotta Restaurant Group, alongside other food carts, food trucks and a selection of beer and wine.
The other two films in this year’s Fish Fry & A Flick series – scheduled for Sept. 6 and 13 – will be announced tomorrow and Friday.
