Adam Richman, foodie and in-the-know host, travels throughout the country to find delicious hidden food treasures. He shares some of his finds on his newest TV show.
His new series, "Man Finds Food," is scheduled to launch at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2. Milwaukee is among the cities featured this season.
"Having spent years on the road introducing viewers to America's most interesting eating establishments, Richman has tasted nearly every dish imaginable, and learned of many cuisine secrets lurking around the American food scene," reported the Travel Channel, which will be airing the 13 half-hour episodes.
"Every city has culinary gems that are held sacred by the locals and sought out by tourists," Richman said.
"But right below the surface – all across the country – is an awesome, delicious, secret dining-world of hidden restaurants and off-the-menu dishes only available to those in-the-know. In 'Man Finds Food,' my crew and I seek out the tasty treasures of this secret dining universe, and share how and where to get some of these magnificent mystery meals. And we do so while meeting, greeting and eating with some of the coolest, most interesting people across the nation."
Two shows, featuring Los Angeles and Chicago, will air on July 2.
Other cities featured this season include: Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Boston; Honolulu; Las Vegas; Nashville, Tenn.; New Orleans; New York; Portland, Ore., and San Francisco.
In July of last year we reported on the Travel Channel’s visit to Milwaukee for the show "Fandemonium." Richman, known for his hosting duties and eating on "Man vs. Food" and appearances on "Amazing Eats" and "Iron Chef America," was at Miller Park for the Brewers' homestand against Seattle.
At that time, he was also at Three Bridges Park in the Menomonee River Valley just east of Miller Park, beneath the 35th and 27th Street Viaducts. Richman tasted and filmed several menu items including Streetza Pizza's Sausage Race Pizza. Other local food trucks and vendors including The Fast Foodie, The Hardwood Café, American Euros, Beef-E's and the Gouda Girls also were a part of this event for food truck fans.
Word is that Richman also stopped at 4th Base, Wisconsin Cheese Mart and The Loaded Slate.
It will be interesting to see if the half-hour show about Milwaukee will feature any of these locations or others on "Man Finds Food."
CHANGE: Diane Sawyer of ABC’s "World News" will step down from her anchor duties this August, the station announced on Wednesday morning. David Muir, who hosts "World News" on the weekend, will take over as anchor of the weekday news program on Sept. 1.
In a departure from tradition, George Stephanopoulos of "Good Morning America," will have the title of "chief anchor" and will lead the broadcast in breaking news and elections.
"After wonderful years at 'World News,' I decided it is time to move to a new full time role at ABC News," Sawyer said in a statement.
"I can't wait to continue bringing more of my specials to prime time and appearing on all ABC News broadcasts, as well. And to my friends and colleagues George and David – congratulations. I look forward to exciting work together and great times ahead."
