Lady Antebellum announced as 2014 State Fair's first headliner
Wisconsin State Fair today announced the first headliner for 2014 would be the trio of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood – better known to country fans as Lady Antebellum.
The Grammy-winning country hit-makers will take the State Fair Main Stage presented by Potawatomi Saturday, Aug. 9. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, Jan. 31 at 10 a.m. at the fair ticket office, as well as State Fair's website. Track general admission tickets (standing room only) and lower grandstand reserved seats will be $59, while upper grandstand reserved seats will be $49.
Formed in 2006, Lady Antebellum has become one of the most popular acts in country music. The trio exploded in 2011 with "Need You Now," which won Grammys for both Song of the Year and Record of the Year over pop hits like Eminem and Rihanna's "Love The Way You Lie" and Cee-Lo Green's "F*ck You." Their latest album, "Golden," was released last May.
For a taste of what to possibly expect, here's Jeff Sherman's review of the band's 2012 Summerfest set.
The 2014 Wisconsin State Fair runs July 31 through Aug. 10.
Fun fact: Hillary Scott tried and failed 2 times to get on American Idol....everyone should take something from that...never give up on your dreams....I bet they will put on a fantastic show!
