"Bar Month" at OnMilwaukee.com – brought to you by Absolut, Avion, Fireball, Pama, Red Stag and 2 Gingers – is back for another round! The whole month of February, we're serving up intoxicatingly fun articles on bars and clubs – including guides, the latest trends, bar reviews, the results of our Best of Bars poll and more. Grab a designated driver and dive in!

OK, so Cafe Bavaria, 7700 Harwood Ave. in the heart of Tosa Village isn't exactly facing off with Cafe Hollander, 7677 W. State St., because they're owned by the same folks at Lowlands Group.

However, these two restaurant/bars quite literally face one another and a 3-year-old could throw a menu from one and likely hit the other.

Cafe Bavaria opens on Thursday, Feb. 13. A grand opening follows on Sunday.

On the restaurant's Facebook page, Lowlands says, "Cafe Bavaria is not your grandmother's German restaurant. Featuring warm German cuisine and beer, the party never ends at Cafe Bavaria."

But it is definitely your Lowlands German restaurant. As at Cafe Benelux Downtown, Cafe Bavaria will have a market attached, and there will be outdoor seating and soccer – Lowlands trademarks – of course, too.

The menus are online here and while pork schnitzel will be ready from the get-go, brunch lovers will have to wait until the following week to sample the restaurant's brunch wares, served until 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

The new place will be open weekdays, from 11 a.m. until 1 a.m.; Saturdays and Sundays, 8 a.m.-1 a.m. Food is served until midnight.
