I finally got my hands on the print edition of last week's Sports Illustrated. Knowing that SI's Ian Thomsen had a piece on the Bucks' Brandon Jennings, I was eager to check it. Sadly, SI doesn't put all of its print content online.

Thomsen's story was well done, insightful and had a few tidbits that even this passionate fan hadn't seen. While I love the national exposure for the Bucks and Jennings, I was even happier to see my favorite pizza place, Calderone Club, mentioned in the second paragraph.
Thomsen writes, "When I'm out there, everything just comes so easy for me," Jennings acknowledged last Thursday while driving to Milwaukee's Calderone Club for an authentic Italian lunch of four-cheese tortellini, a nod to his recent 10-month stay in Rome.
Calderone Club is "my club." It's blocks from home and a frequent dining stop. The owners are not only good people; they're hard-working, passionate and dedicated to their restaurants and Milwaukee. It's great to see them get some national love.
Although, never underestimate what some national attention can do for a local business. I had lunch yesterday at Cempazuchi, 1205 E. Brady St., and Abraham, our great server, mentioned that people are still coming in because of the restaurant's August appearance on Food Network's "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives." Guy Fieri -- host of that show -- is back in town for a show at the Riverside Theater tonight.
In another bit of national star news county star Martina McBride, who was in town with Trace Adkins a few weekends ago at the Bradley Center, stopped by to see Milwaukee's own Bronze Fonz. Check out the photo above.
A life-long and passionate community leader and Milwaukeean, Jeff Sherman is a co-founder of OnMilwaukee.
He grew up in Wauwatosa and graduated from Marquette University, as a Warrior. He holds an MBA from Cardinal Stritch University, and is the founding president of Young Professionals of Milwaukee (YPM)/Fuel Milwaukee.

He's honored to have been named to The Business Journal's "30 under 30" and Milwaukee Magazine's "35 under 35" lists.
He owns a condo in Downtown and lives in greater Milwaukee with his wife Stephanie, his son, Jake, and daughter Pierce. He's a political, music, sports and news junkie and thinks, for what it's worth, that all new movies should be released in theaters, on demand, online and on DVD simultaneously.
