Marcus Theatres is preparing to open its next theater-plex, this time at Southridge Mall.

As first reported by Milwaukee Business Journal, the new cinema, located on the property's northeast corner by Sears and Kohl's according to plans submitted to the village, would feature eight screens.

In the report, Marcus Theatres' director of communications Mari Randa called the new Southridge location "a new food and entertainment concept," which hints at perhaps incorporating Marcus' Big Screen Bistro, Zaffiro's or some other dinner-theater set-up for the new cinema. However, Randa noted that, as Marcus is still in the development stages of the project, there were no other confirmed details or additional information about the theater to provide at the time.

Stay tuned for more details on the new theater as they become available.

As much as it is a gigantic cliché to say that one has always had a passion for film, Matt Mueller has always had a passion for film. Whether it was bringing in the latest movie reviews for his first grade show-and-tell or writing film reviews for the St. Norbert College Times as a high school student, Matt is way too obsessed with movies for his own good.

When he's not writing about the latest blockbuster or talking much too glowingly about "Piranha 3D," Matt can probably be found watching literally any sport (minus cricket) or working at - get this - a local movie theater. Or watching a movie. Yeah, he's probably watching a movie.
