Earlier this week, I posted a blog saying that it appeared Steamer's was closed. The business has not been open for a couple of weeks and the phone number is no longer in service.

Former owner John Artip was unavailable for comment originally, but just got back to me to confirm that the Downtown cafe is closed and will not reopen.

"It's true, Steamers is closed. My dad's mother-in-law has been pretty ill for awhile and he needed to move to Pennsylvania," he wrote in a message to me. "It just wouldn't have been the same without him. It has been difficult but our landlord has been great about the whole thing."
