Ready to stop and smell the roses? And the lilies and the poppies and the peonies and the violets? Good, because the 2016 Shorewood Garden Tour takes place Saturday, July 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This year’s tour will feature seven private gardens and special guest Melinda Meyers, a nationally-known horticultural expert. Myers will answer gardening questions and sign her books at the Eastwood Condominiums, 3942 N. Oakland Ave., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Myers has more than 30 years of horticulture experience and has written 20 gardening books. She hosts the nationally-syndicated show, "Melinda’s Garden."

Tickets are $10 in advance and available at SHOP, Nehrings Sendik’s and Shorewood Village Hall. Tickets are also available the day of at any garden location. All proceeds go toward the beautification of the Village of Shorewood.

The gardens are located at 4322 N. Wildwood Ave., 4399 N. Alpine Ave., 4022 N. Larkin St., 3942 N. Oakland Ave., 1822 E. Edgewood Ave., 2413 E. Shorewood Blvd. and 4138 N. Downer Ave.

"We look forward to Melinda’s presence at this inspiring event. Her horticultural expertise, particularly her knowledge of our region, will be a strong draw to the event," says Bradley Blaeser, president of The Green Team Wisconsin and the Shorewood Garden Tour’s presenting sponsor.


Molly Snyder started writing and publishing her work at the age 10, when her community newspaper printed her poem, "The Unicorn.” Since then, she's expanded beyond the subject of mythical creatures and written in many different mediums but, nearest and dearest to her heart, thousands of articles for OnMilwaukee.

Molly is a regular contributor to FOX6 News and numerous radio stations as well as the co-host of "Dandelions: A Podcast For Women.” She's received five Milwaukee Press Club Awards, served as the Pfister Narrator and is the Wisconsin State Fair’s Celebrity Cream Puff Eating Champion of 2019.
