Strada Pizza will soon open at 2301 S. Howell Ave. in the former Mr. Webo’s spot.

Strada – which means "street" in Italian – will offer New York-style pizzas by the slice or pie, along with wings, wraps, burgers, salads, soups, smoothies, desserts and espresso drinks.

"We’re planning to open at the end of this month or early next month," says Shero Hamdia, operations manager.

The atmosphere will be casual with walk-up counter service and a few tables for dining in. As a corner space with large windows the space has always received a lot of natural light.

Prior to Mr. Webo's, Guanajuato occupied the space. Guanajuato relocated just a few doors away to 2317 S. Howell Ave. in early 2013. Perhaps an Italian restaurant is a better fit so it does not have to compete with the popular Guanajuato, referred to as "GTO" by diners.

"This is different from other restaurants in the area. It will add a good vibe to the neighborhood," Hamdia says.

Strada's hours will be Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. You can check out the full menu online here
