An interesting concept is underway in Milwaukee, one that will allow mobile workers and the owners of small businesses to rent contemporary office space by the month to avoid noisy coffeehouses or having to meet with clients at home.
Hudson, the name for the "business lounge and workplace," will be located in the Third Ward. The exact location has not yet been disclosed, but the pop-up center will open June 1 and the full facility will open in August or September.
Hudson features private offices, group work areas, conference rooms, a coffee / wine bar and business amenities such as the latest technology, printing, photocopying, scanning and more.
Prices start at $55 per month for an occasional place to work, up to $725 a month for a full-time, private office.
William Waldren -- who has a strong background in commercial leasing / construction and office environment design -- serves as the Hudson's CEO and Jeff Lantz, formerly of Foamex International, is the CFO.
I find this to be an interesting and brilliant idea for business-oriented workspace. Artists, like those working inside RedLine, have been doing this for years.
