If you've kept an ear to the local music scene over the past year or two, the odds are good that you've heard about GGOOLLDD. The band hits the Company Brewing (the former Stonefly Brewery) stage on Saturday night as a part of Arte Para Todos. Before that, however, OnMilwaukee.com caught up with the group to learn more about Milwaukee's latest music obsession.

One of the many reasons Wu-Tang Clan star MC Ghostface Killah has remained musically vital has been his musical diversity. In 2014, Ghostface recorded and released "36 Seasons," enlisting Brooklyn-based production squad the Revelations, featuring Milwaukee-born and -bred multi-instrumentalists Gintas Janusonis (who also sings angelically on the album's cover of the Persuaders' "Thin Line Between Love and Hate") and Josh Werner.

The brand new event is a weekend-long local music extravaganza running from Friday, Feb. 27 through Sunday, March 1, with 70 bands and 15 artists spread across three neighborhoods -- Bay View, Riverwest and the East Side -- and 15 venues. If that sounds cool, its motives (besides providing a ton of music) are even more so.

Rockabilly band Crazy Rocket Fuel is comprised of four women who are also good friends. The retro rockers are choosy about their gigs, but always pack the house when they perform. Recently, OnMilwaukee.com sat down with lead singer and guitarist Kari Bloom to find out more about the band and its plans for the New Year.

A couple friends have notified me in recent days of the passing of two veteran Milwaukee musicians. In November and December, rocker Roland Stone and jazzman Sammy Armato passed away.
