Matt Carlino transferred to Marquette University from Brigham Young and immediately became first-year head coach Steve Wojciechowski's "go to" player on offense. After all, not many others on the team had played as much, or scored as much, as Carlino had. But the transition hasn't been easy for the senior guard.

Marquette University named Bill Scholl its new athletic director on Sept. 9 but he began his new duties in late October, just before basketball season began. Now that he's settling in, OnMilwaukee.com caught up with Scholl in his office at the Al McGuire Center to talk about his move to Milwaukee, working within a basketball-driven athletic department for the first time, the concerns with the unionization of college athletes and where Marquette stands in the new arena debate.

Marquette has always had a pretty good basketball program but there is something about the whole thing that doesn't inspire love. As a matter of fact, in some quarters, it's very easy to hate the Golden Eagles.
