The Milwaukee Soccer Development Group is hosting a tailgate and a soccer march from the Twisted Fisherman Crab Shack to the Valley Fields stadium in advance of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Marquette University men's match on Sept. 17. The tailgate and march is designed to not only support the two college programs, but to display Milwaukee's interest in pro soccer coming to the city.

The Wisconsin Badgers capped an incredible year of college basketball in the state with a deep NCAA Tournament run, but they weren't the only big story. The news that boxing is back at the University of Wisconsin as a club sport 64 years after it was banished has made a big media splash. It also reminds us of the Marquette University's boxing program, which spawned one of the most controversial U.S. senators in American history.
