Motorcycles and mainstream sports share a special bond in Wisconsin

As a lifelong local baseball fan, some of my favorite pictures are of Milwaukee Braves' players riding in motorcycle sidecars at County Stadium in the 1960s. Of course, there's another classic motorcycle image from County Stadium in 1982 featuring Robin Yount, except he was on a Honda dirt bike instead of a Harley. These really cool vintage pictures show the long-time connection between motorcycles and sports in Wisconsin.

Most remember that the Green Bay Packers used to play some of their home games in Milwaukee, but did you know that this tradition went on for over 60 years and was played at four different locations? In fact, the threat of moving the team to Milwaukee permanently was the impetus for the construction of Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Its one of the reasons why tonight's game against the Minnesota Vikings is a "gold game" for Milwaukee season ticket holders.

Brewers will honor Selig with retired number

Allan "Bud" Selig was at Miller Park Friday night, the second-to-last stop on his tour of Major League Baseball's ballparks as acting commissioner. It was the team he founded, and the house he built -- and current principal owner Mark Attanasio announced the club will retire jersey number 1 next year in Selig's honor.
