Starting up a winery is on the bucket lists of many. But this Fond du Lac native actually did it. Joel Templin, who now lives in San Francisco, partnered with two others to form JAQK Wine Cellars in 2008. JAQK Cellars' wines - which have a strong casino-gaming theme with hip, creative packaging thanks to Templin's strong design background - recently arrived in Wisconsin and are available at select retailers and restaurants.

This week's wine of the week, a 2005 Estate Benessere Sangiovese, comes on the recommendation of Dean Cannestra, proprietor of Libiamo, 221 W. Galena St., and is from the family owned Benessere Napa Valley vineyard. This sangiovese is available by the bottle at Libiamo.
