One of Riverwest's signature watering holes re-opens this week after being closed for months. River Horse, 701 E. Center St., will be back in business Wednesday with several familiar faces behind the bar, including the bar's previous owner Scott Radtke.

River Horse, a bar in Riverwest, closed yesterday. According to a message on Facebook, the bar -- formerly located at 701 E. Center St. -- is closed temporarily, but owner Scott Radke has yet to comment on the future of the popular corner tap.

For the third year in a row, OnMilwaukee.com readers picked Nessun Dorma as Riverwest's best bar. The pub -- which is also a popular restaurant -- offers 80 different kinds of beer and lager, as well as a few dozen types of wine by the glass or bottle, including red, white, sparkling, sake and more.

Riverwest's newest eatery, House of Frank N. Stein, 726 E. Center St., quietly opened a couple of weeks ago inside a former funeral home. The owners hope to have a liquor license very soon.
